Dietary Aide

About This Role

The Dietary Aide prepares and delivers healthy meals, ensuring patients receive proper foods based on their dietary needs and restrictions. This role involves strict adherence to safety and health standards and effective communication with patients, Dietitians, and medical professionals.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation, hospitality duties, and meal service, including serving food under the guidance of the Chef or Dietitian
• Deliver dishes, trays, and designated times and rooms
• Assist in setting up and clearing up dining areas with attention to cleanliness and order, including dish, tray, trash, and leftover removals
• Follow all sanitation guidelines, federal/state regulations, and Senior Living/Healthcare requirements
• Maintain cleanliness of prep items and perform cleaning duties as scheduled
• Provide customer service and hospitality during nutrition delivery

Requirements

• High school diploma
• Current Food Handler’s Permit
• Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written, English) with residents and staff
• Ability to read and understand written instructions and follow safety practices
• Patience and compassion to senior adults
• Knowledge of and understanding of food safety, sanitation, preparation and serving principles

Qualifications

• High school diploma
• One (1) year of food service experience including serving/waiting tables, cleaning and kitchen sanitation protocols, basic food/meal prep is preferred.

Nice to Have

• Training in Servsafe
