Lead Application Developer / Site Manager

About This Role

Lead the design, development, and deployment of complex applications and microservices in a cross-domain solution environment, supporting classified development for government IT. This role also involves on-site supervision and technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify, document, and integrate requirements into features
• Utilize Agile for managing and delivering work across the software development team
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior and mid-level developers
• Collaborate with architects, product managers, and cross-functional teams to define technical solutions
• Conduct thorough code reviews and enforce best practices in software engineering
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and maintainability
• Design and implement robust CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment processes
• Ensure the security, reliability, and compliance of applications through thoughtful design and automation
• Participate in system architecture discussions and influence key technical decisions
• Investigate and resolve complex technical issues in development, testing, and production environments

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain and hold DEA suitability
• 7+ years of professional Java development experience
• Expertise with Java frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and JPA
• Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript
• Deep understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and Java best practices
• Solid understanding of RESTful web services and API design
• Experience with version control systems (Git using ADO or GitHub)
• Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum teams
• Understanding of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and ORM tools
• Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and test-driven development (TDD)

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience
• 12 years experience, with 7+ years of professional Java development experience

Nice to Have

• Experience in working with ColdFusion
