Laboratory Supervisor - Core Lab

About This Role

This role provides laboratory services, supervises personnel, and coordinates functions in a core lab division. Responsibilities include supervising technical activities, performing personnel actions, and training staff, while also serving as a technical staff member for at least 50% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Directs, supervises, and coordinates technical functions and activities in assigned area(s)
• Prepares work schedules, assigns personnel, evaluates work performance, and makes recommendations for personnel actions
• Trains other employees in day-to-day procedures
• Assists in developing budgets, department goals, and objectives
• Performs surveys and comparative analyses of work units
• Consults with medical staff and other health care providers on matters relating to laboratory services
• Participates in Quality Assessment Program on a regular and continuing basis
• Performs the duties of a medical technologist, including tests and procedures

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree
• 2 years Medical Technology or a related science experience
• Thorough understanding of test theory, instrumentation, sources of test error and other factors

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree
• 2 years Medical technology or a related science. 5 years preferred.
