This Laboratory Assistant position at Frye Regional Medical Center involves performing essential laboratory duties, including phlebotomy and specimen collection, to support patient care. The role ensures efficient laboratory operations and accurate communication of test results to healthcare providers.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic laboratory duties, including phlebotomy and other specimen collection
- Perform waived testing
- Assist with receiving, identifying, accessioning, processing, and transporting specimens
- Maintain adequate stock of supplies
- Maintain work area in a safe, aseptic, and organized manner
- Perform clerical duties including answering phones, data entry, and filing
- Communicate test results to appropriate healthcare providers
- Inventory phlebotomy services, reference lab supplies, and departmental office supplies
