Laboratory Assistant

About This Role

The Laboratory Assistant works in the lab specimen processing/intake department, assisting with specimen management, clerical duties, and potentially blood collection. This role supports the efficient operation of laboratory functions.

Responsibilities

• Work primarily in the lab specimen processing/intake department
• Assist with specimen management
• Perform clerical duties as requested
• May perform blood collection and specimen processing
• May perform waived or moderately complex testing, if appropriate for the department organization and allowed by regulations

Requirements

• High School Diploma/G.E.D.
• BLS-CPR within 90 days

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/G.E.D.

Nice to Have

• Lab Assistant Program certification
• Phlebotomy program certificate
• 6 months experience in an acute care facility
• Excellent customer service and time management skills
