The Lab Associate I performs non-blood and blood specimen collection, routine specimen handling and processing, and clerical duties associated with specimen collection for the Core Lab at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. This role ensures positive patient identification and interaction while maintaining specimen integrity.
Responsibilities
- Perform phlebotomy, ensuring positive patient identification and interaction, and proper specimen collection and integrity.
- Coordinate a simultaneous series of tasks accurately, including STAT orders and fluctuations in workload, prioritizing work to complete within scheduled hours and established turnaround times.
- Interact effectively with lab, clinical, and other ancillary departments.
- Perform specimen handling and routine processing.
- Complete clerical duties associated with specimen collection.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Phlebotomy certification
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- No Experience required.
