Assistant Nurse Manager Operating Room

About This Role

This role coordinates patient care, manages personnel, maintains equipment, and handles purchasing within the Operating Room at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. The Assistant Nurse Manager ensures patient care aligns with planned interventions and collaborates on care plans.

Responsibilities

• Manage individual(s) including hiring, training, assigning work, managing & evaluating performance, and conducting professional development plans
• Ensure productivity and actions of the team meet/support the operational goals of the department
• May participate in the development of departmental staffing, revenue, and/or expense budgets and adhere to those goals
• Provide and oversee patient care according to planned interventions for age and developmental needs, documenting according to policy
• Create and ensure implementation of a collaborative plan of care based on assessment, diagnosis, and medical treatment
• Support the review of staff hours worked vs. scheduled hours and determine appropriate disposition if variation exists
• Perform and approve daily payroll updates; reconcile time cards, bonus tracking, and coding approval
• Prepare, coordinate, and execute all staff communications; prepare huddle agendas and lead meetings
• Determine staffing needs and make nursing assignments as well as assign overtime
• Interview staff for open positions; evaluate and conduct performance reviews as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• 2-5 years of experience
• RN License

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• 2-5 years of experience, preferably 5-10 years
