IV Certified Pharmacy Technician

About This Role

This role is for an IV Certified Pharmacy Technician who will be an integral part of the Omnicare closed-door pharmacy team. The primary purpose is to ensure all medication needs and regulatory compliance are met for patients through order fulfillment, packaging, dispensing, and sterile compounding.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate workflow for assigned areas that prepare and process medications with the function supervisor
• Work in various assigned pharmacy workstations including Packaging, Staging, Returns, Receiving, Narcotics, IV, Ekit, Compounding, Omnicell Cycle Fill, Machine Packaging
• Receive product deliveries, pull and stage product for distribution, rotate stock, and coordinate activities with drivers
• Perform physical inventories of medication
• Data entry for IV medications, IV pumps, and supplies
• Compounding sterile products
• Review delivery orders and bins for accuracy

Requirements

• Certification/licensed/registered pharmacy technician or as required by state law
• One (1) or more years of experience as a pharmacy technician or equivalent experience
• Compounding Sterile IV Products for Pharmacy Technicians Certificate

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• One (1) or more years of experience as a pharmacy technician or equivalent experience

Nice to Have

• Prior experience in the long-term care industry
• Prior experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
• PTCB National Certification
• Five (5) or more years of experience as a pharmacy technician or equivalent experience
