About This Role

The IT Specialist II supports end users by providing technical assistance and training, and by installing, configuring, and maintaining agency systems. This role ensures reliable technical operations and contributes to projects like technical needs assessments and network analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and personal support for all staff remotely, by telephone, in-person, or onsite
  • Support infrastructure and software systems
  • Collaborate with senior IT staff on network and systems administration
  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows client computer systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, OS, and application problems
  • Provide basic training to end users on computer and application usage
  • Delegate work orders and process requests with the Information Technology Technician I
  • Maintain proper documentation for all user requests in a timely manner
  • Maintain the work queue and document in the ticketing system
  • Adhere to software licensing and EULA requirements, assisting in maintaining active system and software inventory
  • Actively seek out and share new information, donations of software, hardware, and computer training
  • Compile, retrieve, analyze, and distribute program information and statistics
  • Coordinate supply and maintenance repair and upgrade orders
  • Assist with the completion of the program self-assessment

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Computer Science or two years of relevant technical support experience
  • One year of customer service experience
  • Valid driver's license and insured vehicle with satisfactory driving record for 3 years
  • Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification within 60 days of hire
  • Successful registration with the Central Background Registry of the Child Care Division
  • Ability to pass comprehensive MWVCAA background screening
  • Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screenings
  • Effective communication skills (written and oral)
  • Active listening skills for troubleshooting
  • Experience and ability to operate a variety of power and hand tools

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Computer Science, or Two years of experience in a relevant technical support field
  • Entry level

Nice to Have

  • Strong phone contact handling experience
