Inventory Control Specialist Perishable

About This Role

As an Inventory Control Specialist, you will accurately maintain, track, and report physical inventory. You will act as a liaison between internal and external customers to ensure accuracy of physical inventory and fiscal accounting within a perishable warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform all inventory functions to ensure accuracy, efficiency, compliance, profitability, proper material handling, and minimal damage
• Use Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) data to ensure efficient and proper inventory control
• Research and identify quality control issues to minimize recurrence and ensure regulatory compliance
• Identify opportunities for improvement of all inventory functions and programs
• Check condition of pallets and exchange where necessary
• Promptly report damage and all inventory discrepancies
• Maintain cleanliness and repair of dock and facility areas
• Ensure pallets are wrapped and stacked for safe transport to storage
• Safely operate appropriate Material Handling Equipment after training
• Maintain all food safety, housekeeping and other applicable standards

Requirements

• Ability to operate or learn to operate material handling equipment (MHE)
• Basic math skills to ensure proper counts and verify pallet ID numbers
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to operate various technology including computers and tablets
• Ability to accommodate flexible schedules to meet the needs of the member to include nights, weekends and holidays

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Warehouse experience preferred

• College coursework, continuing technical education or comparable business experience

• Experience operating Material Handling Equipment
• Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems
