The Inventory Control Specialist at HME is responsible for scheduling and monitoring inventory audits, maintaining precise inventory transaction processes, and ensuring proper inventory levels across multiple warehouses. This role involves comprehensive reporting, project management related to inventory, and upholding safety and efficiency in the work area.
Responsibilities
- Schedule Cycle Counts and Inventory Audits according to established policies and procedures
- Monitor material transaction procedures and multi-warehouse inventory levels through weekly reporting
- Perform independent stock audits to maintain proper inventory levels and ensure adherence to the corporate Cycle Count Program
- Oversee and maintain inventory transaction processes and their compliance
- Create and maintain metrics and reports on cycle count accuracy
- Manage and support inventory-related projects, communicating scope to managers and the stockroom team
- Develop and maintain an organized stocking plan to ensure inventory accessibility
- Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work area, inspecting aisles and leading Gemba walks
- Ensure all process documentation, including Cycle Count Policy, QMP's, SOP's, and work instructions, are current
- Monitor department email, utilize reports for inventory accuracy, and provide customer service to other departments.
Requirements
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Intermediate computer skills (Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite, Teams)
- Strong attention to detail
- Enhanced math and analytical skills utilizing Excel
- Good time management and organization skills
- Advanced knowledge of Inventory Control Principles (Cycle Counting, Kanban Management, Independent Audits)
- Knowledge of continuous improvement, root cause, and Lean principles
- Ability to work within deadlines, under pressure, and handle interruptions
- AX Experience
Qualifications
- AA Degree (2 years college)
- 3 years related experience in inventory control
