About This Role

Assist in performing medically prescribed radiographs and interventional procedures, contributing to patient care within a medical center setting. This role involves utilizing hospital and radiology information systems and maintaining a respectful, cooperative approach within the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates knowledge of the hospital and radiology information systems as they relate to radiology
  • Functions as a respectful member of the health care team
  • Maintains supplies and cleanliness of space, restocks supplies as needed
  • Notifies supervisor of any shortage of any supplies
  • Handles stressful situations with little or no supervision
  • Maintains confidentiality on matters to which they are privileged
  • Answers patient questions to ensure understanding and patient satisfaction
  • Maintain cooperative and professional relationships with physicians, nurses and office and clinical staff
  • Demonstrates skill in equipment set-up, utilization and proper maintenance procedure
  • Implements patient procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards
  • Effectively assesses patients information and status, and follows appropriate procedure(s) accordingly
  • Performs interventional and general radiographic and fluoroscopic exams for evaluation and treatment by physician

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Certificate from accredited School of Radiologic Technology
  • New York State license with IV Contrast Certification
  • Five (5) years experience as an X-ray Technologist
  • Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma and Certificate from accredited School of Radiologic Technology
  • Five (5) years experience as an X-ray Technologist
