About This Role

The Nurse Practitioner will provide, coordinate, and assure comprehensive nursing care for general Endocrine and Osteoporosis patients in Manhattan. This role involves diagnosing illnesses, performing therapeutic measures, and collaborating with physicians to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and organize care to meet individual patient needs, ensuring appropriate clinical resource utilization.
  • Monitor and trend the cost effectiveness of the position, particularly related to efficiency and performance indicators.
  • Serve as a clinical expert and resource for the education of peers and other health professionals.
  • Maintain current expertise in area of practice.
  • Promote professional growth and development in clinical and managerial roles.
  • Consider needs and behaviors of specific patient age and cultural groups in all patient care.
  • Evaluate treatment and health care plans for effectiveness and modify per clinical standards and practice protocols.
  • Practice as a member of the allied health staff according to Medical Staff rules and regulations.
  • Order customary laboratory, radiological and diagnostic studies per practice protocols.
  • Perform complete health history, physical examination, and psychosocial assessment of patients.

Requirements

  • Current registration as Professional Nurse in New York
  • Registration as Nurse Practitioner in New York
  • Master's Degree in Nursing
  • Certification by ANCC or Board Certification from other specialty organization
  • Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Nursing
  • At least five years of clinical nursing practice in the care of the patient population served, with previous experience as a nurse practitioner preferred.

Nice to Have

  • Background in diabetes and endocrinology
  • Advanced Life Support certification (ACLS, PALS) or Neonatal Resuscitation certification (NRP)
  • Membership in professional specialty organizations
