This role involves providing clinical leadership and management for a designated care area, ensuring excellence in patient care, staff development, and quality nursing consistent with NYU Langone Health's mission. The Nurse Manager will be responsible for nursing practice, performance, and achieving organizational goals.
Responsibilities
- Foster a culture embedded in NYU's tripartite mission to serve, teach, and discover
- Collaborate with the inter-professional team to ensure excellence in quality, patient experience, and efficiency
- Foster positive and productive work and care environments founded in diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Conduct interviews, hire, develop, and evaluate departmental leadership
- Participate in establishing the strategic area's financial plan and making recommendations to senior leadership
- Coordinate care delivery using labor productivity data to plan and evaluate staffing patterns
- Hold self and others accountable for the delivery of exemplary care in a cost-efficient manner
- Design, implement, and evaluate programs and activities to ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards
- Participate in the development, approval, and implementation of nursing and organizational policy
- Collect, analyze, and utilize data to drive practice changes for improved patient and nursing outcomes
Requirements
- Current Registered Professional Nurse licensure in New York State
- Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association
- Master's degree in nursing
- At least three years of pertinent clinical practice
Qualifications
- Master's degree in nursing required
- At least three years of pertinent clinical practice. Preferred 1-2 years Leadership or supervisory experience.
