About This Role

The International Heritage Intern will explore Biltmore's operations as a cultural heritage destination and complete a curatorial project that aligns with Biltmore's mission and values. The intern will gather data, research heritage precedents, and recommend improvements for guest experience, inclusivity, and community engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Experience Biltmore's current interpretive offerings
  • Receive basic training in object handling, archival methods, and collections software management systems
  • Research best practices in museum and interpretation fields for improving guest experience or operations
  • Compile and present findings to Museum Services and other relevant department representatives
  • Provide general support and assistance to the department, leadership, and company as required

Requirements

  • Graduate-level student in International Heritage Management at the University of Birmingham with relevant placement experience
  • Research ability
  • Willingness to learn
  • Experience with or knowledge of interpretation at heritage sites/museums

Qualifications

  • Graduate-level student who has completed all compulsory models and undertaken a placement relevant to their degree in International Heritage Management at the University of Birmingham
