About This Role

This role involves performing repairs and maintenance on the Inn's materials, supplies, and components, including plumbing, painting, minor carpentry, electrical, and HVAC work. The Inn Engineer II will ensure the proper upkeep and operations of the Inn for an exceptional guest experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate knowledge of correct maintenance procedures and equipment use
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas
  • Receive daily work assignments and review priorities and special projects
  • Maintain stock levels of fixtures, tools, and standard supplies; communicate shortages and requisition needs
  • Perform carpentry functions including finish work, wood joining, and repairs to furniture, walls, and structures
  • Understand and maintain plumbing equipment and systems, including identifying and repairing leaks, clogs, and defects
  • Operate and maintain electrical systems service and equipment, including panels, circuits, and emergency lighting
  • Install, maintain, replace, or repair furniture, ceiling tiles, hardware, and structural components
  • Ensure proper maintenance of the swimming pool and equipment, including water sample testing
  • Prepare and complete daily logs, work orders, and other departmental paperwork

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Ability to lift 50-75 pounds frequently
  • Must be at least 18 years old

Qualifications

  • High school diploma. Additional certifications and/or training helpful.

Nice to Have

  • Thorough knowledge in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or other trades
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous experience with building mechanical systems
  • Working knowledge of and ability to interpret building and construction drawings, blueprints and schematics
  • Basic understanding of construction, cabinetry, decorating, drywall repair, and wallpaper repair/installation
  • Knowledge of proper chemical handling and disposal
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical/safety systems construction methods
  • Knowledge of power and hand tools, meters as it relates to technical trades
