About This Role

The Inn Engineer II will be responsible for the repairs, maintenance, upkeep, and operations of the Inn's materials, supplies, and components. This role involves interior and exterior projects, including plumbing, painting, minor carpentry, electrical, and HVAC work, while ensuring exceptional guest service.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs and maintenance on plumbing, painting, minor carpentry, electrical, and HVAC systems
  • Assist in preventative maintenance of Inn public areas and guest rooms
  • Maintain accurate knowledge of correct maintenance procedures and use of equipment
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas
  • Receive and prioritize daily work assignments from Chief Engineer or Assistant Manager
  • Maintain stock levels of fixtures, tools, and other standard supplies
  • Build thorough knowledge of carpentry functions including finish work, wood joining, and repairs to furniture, cabinetry, and structures
  • Understand and maintain the property's plumbing equipment and systems, including identifying and repairing leaks, clogs, and defects
  • Operate and maintain electrical systems, including distribution panels, branch circuits, and lighting
  • Ensure proper maintenance of the swimming pool and equipment, conducting water sample tests
  • Prepare and complete daily logs, work orders, and other paperwork
  • Communicate graciously with guests, management, and co-workers

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Thorough knowledge in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or other trades preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle a variety of internal and external guest issues professionally
  • At least 18 years old
  • Valid driver's license

Qualifications

  • High school diploma

Nice to Have

  • Additional certifications and/or training
  • Previous experience with building mechanical systems
  • Working knowledge of and ability to interpret building and construction drawings, blueprints, and schematics
  • Basic knowledge of how to layout minor renovation projects and proper materials
  • Basic understanding of construction and cabinetry, decorating – dry wall repair and wall paper repair and installation
