About This Role

An HR Generalist II performs a wide variety of professional human resources work, requiring broad knowledge of HR principles and the ability to interpret and implement HR policies. This role may involve leading paraprofessional and office support employees.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide variety of professional human resources work of a complex nature
  • Lead paraprofessional human resource and office support employees (without full supervisory duties)
  • Interpret and implement human resources policies and procedures
  • Deal with a variety of situations and problems under specified time constraints
  • Communicate effectively with employees, applicants, and management orally and in writing
  • Develop, analyze, and manipulate data from various databases to produce reports and spreadsheets
  • Conduct research, compile data, and prepare statistical and narrative reports
  • Maintain human resources records
  • Exercise sound judgment in applicant review, interview, selection, and job placement

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • 3 years of experience in human resources administration
  • Knowledge of Federal/State/Local regulations affecting employment and human capital management (FLSA, ADA, EEO)
  • Knowledge of and skill in applying fundamental human resources management (HRM) principles, practices and techniques across HR disciplines (Recruitment, Classification & Compensation, Professional Development, HRIS, or Benefits/Wellness)
  • Knowledge of automated office systems and word processing software

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • 3 years of experience in human resources administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. One year of graduate coursework may substitute for one year of experience.
