The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for managing the daily functions of the Human Resource department, including the oversight, administration, and coordination of employment, employee relations, benefits, complaints, and problem resolution. This role provides assistance and counsel to management on employee relations issues at the Sumner location.
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance and counsel to management on employee relations issues
- Administer, coordinate, and track approved LOAs, L&I, light duty, and Worker's Compensation programs
- Assist in managing employee records and employment documents, including onboarding, benefits, and termination documents
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic principles and practices of human resources
- Previous employee relations experience, including assisting management with progressive disciplinary policies and investigating employee concerns
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a wide range of people in a diverse workforce
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong time management skills with ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and uphold ethical standards
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
- Customer-centric focus and advanced customer service skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field, or an Associate's degree plus two years of exempt-level experience
- Three to five years of prior HR experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required. Prior work experience in the manufacturing or distribution industry is preferred.

- Prior work experience in the manufacturing or distribution industry
- Prior experience working with ADP Payroll, Report Smith, and Attendance Enterprise
- Prior experience with a Payroll or HRIS database
