This role will serve as a strategic partner to leadership within an assigned internal client group, driving initiatives that align people strategy with business goals. It supports organizational and business initiatives, coaches through employee relations challenges, and advises on team survey feedback and performance management, contributing to an exceptional employee experience.
Responsibilities
- Build trust and elevate working relationships with internal departments, leaders, and employees
- Act as trusted advisor to senior leaders on talent, culture, and team effectiveness
- Champion initiatives enhancing employee engagement, well-being, and retention
- Collaborate with leadership to boost employee engagement and leadership effectiveness
- Drive, message, and implement change management, reorganizations, and team initiatives
- Serve as HR/Talent thought partner, connecting, coaching, and counseling all organizational levels
- Partner across HR to align with organizational objectives and execute strategic initiatives
- Advise leaders on performance management strategies including reviews, meetings, motivation tactics, 9 box, succession planning
- Process employee separations and conduct exit interviews to influence team engagement improvements
- Coach employees on HR policies and processes
- Manage sensitive and confidential matters, including employee relations investigations
- Analyze HR data to identify trends and provide business-impacting recommendations
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Maintain knowledge of HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and technologies
Requirements
- 5+ years in Employee Relations or HR function with relevant skill sets
- Experience with state and federal employment laws including FLSA, ADA, DFEH, EEOC, FMLA, and CFRA
- Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced culture
- BS/BA degree
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with leaders and employees at all levels
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills for complex situations
- Ability to build interpersonal connections with high emotional intelligence and empathy
- Adaptive critical thinking and judgment in ambiguous situations
- Ability to view situations from multiple perspectives and resolve conflicts and performance concerns
- Learning and growth mindset with focus on continuous improvement
Qualifications
- BS/BA degree
- 5+ years in Employee Relations or HR function with relevant skill sets
