About This Role

Supervise the day-to-day operations of the House Security Team, ensuring authorized access to Biltmore House and the Historic Zone while maintaining a safe and gracious environment for guests and staff. Assist leadership with access control functions and staff development.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the day to day operations of the House Security Team
  • Assist leadership with Biltmore House and Historic Zone access control functions
  • Ensure only authorized vendors, guests, and staff enter the Historic Zone safely and expeditiously
  • Interact positively with all guests, vendors, and employees in guest contact areas
  • Be approachable, anticipate guest needs, and answer questions about the Estate
  • Perform duties in a professional manner, maintaining Biltmore's Gracious Hospitality
  • Provide front line management of security personnel, handling issues when supervisors are unavailable
  • Conduct daily roll call/briefing of officers, ensuring timely arrival, proper uniform, and daily briefing
  • Provide support for staff development, engage in performance management, and assist with staff hiring and training
  • Develop and maintain staff daily rotations

Requirements

  • At least 19 years of age
  • Valid driver’s license
  • High school diploma
  • At least 2 years of similar experience in guest services support, safety, security, or a related field
  • At least 1 year prior leadership experience in safety/security in attractions, hospitality, and/or upscale hotel/resort environment with a focus on guest service
  • Ability to handle multiple guest service situations professionally
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Proactive, exercises good judgment
  • Working knowledge of PC software applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point)
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to pass a physical

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required. Two or Four year degree preferred.
  • At least 2 years of similar experience in guest services support, safety, security, or related field, with at least 1 year prior leadership experience in attractions, hospitality, or upscale hotel/resort security with a guest service focus.
