Host/Server Assistant

About This Role

As a Host/Server Assistant, you will create memorable first and last impressions for guests, greet and seat them, and assist service staff to ensure an AUS-SOME dining experience. You will support the restaurant's commitment to perfectly tailored service and help maintain food safety and cleanliness standards.

Responsibilities

• Make memorable first and last impressions with a smile
• Greet incoming and departing Guests in a welcoming manner and seat them in dining and bar areas, ensuring a smooth handoff to service staff
• Coordinate wait times and seat Guests with a sense of urgency
• Demonstrate teamwork by supporting all areas of the restaurant as business needs arise
• Commit to food safety, cleanliness, job safety, and sanitation standards
• Bus tables, deliver food, and support the dining room, fulfilling opportunities to WOW guests
• Have general knowledge of the food and drink menu and be able to recommend and upsell products
• Answer the phone in a prompt and professional manner and direct calls
• Lead the lobby experience for each Guest, following Outback hospitality standards
• Assist guests and support Servers by serving food and beverages, clearing and resetting tables, and ensuring a clean, welcoming dining environment

Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry or move up to 30 lbs
• Ability to work in hot and cold environments
• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, up to 8 hours per shift
• Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, squatting and stooping
• Manual dexterity to handle glassware, utensils and technology systems
• Ability to move quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Visual ability to include distance, close, color, depth and peripheral, with ability to adjust focus as needed
• Ability to work in areas with low or dim lighting
