About This Role

Lead and coordinate surveillance activities for acute and chronic hepatitis B, C, and D, including case investigation, data management, and providing technical assistance. Manage a team, improve workflow, and ensure data quality for public health initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and evaluate acute and chronic hepatitis B and C cases
  • Determine investigative priorities based on medical history, lab testing, and demographic information
  • Collaborate with internal and external agencies to identify public health problems related to hepatitis
  • Assign work tasks, monitor workflow, and provide feedback to the viral hepatitis surveillance team
  • Identify training needs and provide training to team members
  • Import hepatitis C/hepatitis B/hepatitis D labs from various sources and perform duplicate checking in Epitrax
  • Interview and educate patients about hepatitis B, C, and D prevention and disease
  • Prepare surveillance case reports including medical and epidemiologic data
  • Update existing events in EpiTrax with risk and exposure data
  • Attend meetings, serve on task forces, and complete projects as assigned

Requirements

  • 7 years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned
  • Proficiency in fundamental computer skills (navigating operating systems, basic software, email)
  • Experience and proficiency in word processing and current communication technology
  • Ability to analyze and interpret clinical evidence
  • Thoroughness and conscientiousness in attention to detail

Qualifications

  • 7 years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position, or a combination of related education and/or relevant experience equal to seven years.
