Graduate Nurse (RN, GN) - Med/Surg

About This Role

Utilize the nursing process to provide direct and indirect care to patients in a Med/Surg setting, addressing age-appropriate needs and ensuring patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention, documentation, and evaluation) to provide direct and indirect patient care
• Address age-appropriate needs of all patients based on assigned area(s)
• Follow nursing department philosophies, policies and procedures to develop unique education and care plans
• Provide appropriate education and support for family members
• Utilize judgment, knowledge and understanding of patient and family needs when directing ancillary staff
• Ensure customer satisfaction (patient, family, physician, others)
• Maintain patient confidentiality
• Be sensitive to age specific patient needs for comfort, privacy and generalized care
• Annually complete competency requirements specific to area(s) of responsibility

Requirements

• Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
