This Graduate Nurse (GN) position offers temporary practice at St. Vincent’s Behavioral Health Center in Westport, specializing in adult psychiatric care under the supervision of a licensed Registered Nurse. The role focuses on providing holistic, quality, and cost-effective nursing care to patients and families within a supportive team environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide temporary practice while pending licensing examination results (up to 90 calendar days post-graduation)
- Fulfill practice duties under the supervision of a licensed Registered Nurse
- Apply the nursing process within the organization's Framework for Professional Practice
- Deliver holistic, quality, and cost-effective nursing care for patients/families with an awareness of the episode of care
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited Nursing program
- Application to sit for CT RN license completed
- Licensing obtained within 90 calendar days of graduation date
- Ability to develop, deliver and evaluate patient care
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work as part of a collaborative team
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing program (minimum Associate degree, Bachelor’s preferred)
- Entry-level position for recent graduates
