Join the Graduate Nurse Residency Program in Palliative Care at Texas Health, designed for new graduate RNs to gain crucial experience, judgment, and skills in a complex patient care environment. This 15-month program offers a guided clinical experience within the hospital's education structure.
Responsibilities
- Participate in a guided clinical experience with an instructor-led core curriculum
- Engage in a formal mentoring program
- Attend informative debriefing and self-care sessions
- Undergo supportive 360-degree evaluations
- Contribute to the learning experience on personally selected home units
- Rotate and cross-train through other departments to expand nursing experience
- Provide comprehensive, supportive care for patients with life-limiting or life-threatening illness
- Alleviate suffering and improve quality of life for advanced illness patients and their families
- Provide specialized care for the cystic fibrosis population
- Maintain licensure and certifications required for practice
Requirements
- ADN (Associates Nursing Degree)
- Current RN licensure (Texas or Compact State)
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support
Qualifications
- ADN (Associates Nursing Degree) is required upon hire; BSN preferred
- Less than one year experience at the time the residency begins preferred
Nice to Have
- BSN degree
- Graduated within the last 12 months
- Less than one year experience at the time the residency begins
- Not previously completed a THR nursing residency
