About This Role

Join the Texas Health Graduate Nurse Residency Program as a new graduate RN in the Med Surg unit. This program provides guided clinical experience, mentorship, and comprehensive training to develop essential nursing skills and confidence in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a guided clinical experience with an instructor-led core curriculum
  • Engage in a formal mentoring program
  • Attend informative debriefing and self-care sessions
  • Complete supportive 360-degree evaluations
  • Participate in learning experiences on a personally selected home unit
  • Rotate and cross-train through other departments to gain expanded nursing experience

Requirements

  • ADN (Associate's Nursing Degree)
  • Current RN licensure (Texas or Compact State) with boards passed and results verified by noon the Wednesday prior to start date
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly

Qualifications

  • ADN (Associate's Nursing Degree) is required upon hire, BSN preferred
  • Less than one-year experience at the time the residency begins preferred

Nice to Have

  • BSN preferred
  • Graduated within the last 12 months preferred
  • Have not previously completed a THR nursing residency preferred
