Join the Texas Health Graduate Nurse Residency Program as a new graduate RN in the Med Surg unit. This program provides guided clinical experience, mentorship, and comprehensive training to develop essential nursing skills and confidence in a hospital setting.
Responsibilities
- Participate in a guided clinical experience with an instructor-led core curriculum
- Engage in a formal mentoring program
- Attend informative debriefing and self-care sessions
- Complete supportive 360-degree evaluations
- Participate in learning experiences on a personally selected home unit
- Rotate and cross-train through other departments to gain expanded nursing experience
Requirements
- ADN (Associate's Nursing Degree)
- Current RN licensure (Texas or Compact State) with boards passed and results verified by noon the Wednesday prior to start date
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
Qualifications
- ADN (Associate's Nursing Degree) is required upon hire, BSN preferred
- Less than one-year experience at the time the residency begins preferred
Nice to Have
- BSN preferred
- Graduated within the last 12 months preferred
- Have not previously completed a THR nursing residency preferred
