Join the Texas Health Graduate Nurse Residency Program in the Emergency Department at Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital to gain experience, judgment, and skills in complex patient care. This 15-month program offers new graduate RNs an opportunity for guided clinical experience, mentorship, and rotations through various departments.
Responsibilities
- Participate in a guided clinical experience with an instructor-led core curriculum
- Engage in a formal mentoring program
- Attend informative debriefing/self-care sessions
- Undergo supportive 360-degree evaluations
- Participate in learning experiences on personally selected home units
- Rotate and cross-train through other departments to gain expanded nursing experience
- Provide patient care in a 50-bed Emergency Department unit with 220 visits a day
- Care for patients ranging from 0-108 years old
- Work full-time, (3)-12 hour shifts, including rotating weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts
Requirements
- ADN (Associate's Nursing Degree)
- Graduated within the last 12 months (preferred)
- Less than one-year experience at the time the residency begins (preferred)
- Have not previously completed a THR nursing residency (preferred)
- Current RN licensure (Texas or Compact State)
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
Qualifications
- ADN (Associate's Nursing Degree) required upon hire; BSN preferred
- Less than one-year experience at the time the residency begins preferred
