Google Cloud Solutions Architect

About This Role

This Cloud Solutions Architect role is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and continual improvement of Northwell's multi-cloud environments. The role ensures cloud-hosted and cloud-native workloads are secure, reliable, resilient, and compliant with Northwell's policies.

Responsibilities

• Act as a Cloud Subject Matter Expert to prioritize on-going backlog cloud requests and improvements
• Collaborate with Northwell stakeholders to migrate existing applications and data services
• Advise product/solution teams on secure, reliable, resilient, and cost-effective cloud workload design and builds
• Contribute to standardizing cloud environments and services with version-controlled and reusable blueprints and configuration templates
• Understand and manage cloud service provider service level agreements and objectives
• Actively manage cloud policies, controls, and standards using cloud governance procedures and guardrails
• Identify and evangelize available and emerging cloud services
• Work with Finance team on design and implementation of cloud pricing, discounts, and chargeback models
• Contribute to “Authority-to-Operate” process for onboarding new cloud providers and services

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience
• 5-7 years of relevant experience
• 8+ years of experience in a cloud architect role with strong emphasis on designing and deploying enterprise-scale solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Proven design and solutioning experience across core GCP services (IaaS and PaaS), such as Cloud Run, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Cloud SQL, and Pub/Sub, GCE/GCVE
• 5+ years of practical experience designing and implementing cloud automation and robust CI/CD pipelines
• Hands-on proficiency with Infrastructure as Code and Policy as Code tools (e.g., Terraform and Sentinel)
• Expertise in designing and implementing high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), and business continuity (BC) solutions
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Self-directed and proactive mindset with a track record of ownership and leading complex technical initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• 5-7 years of relevant experience, 8+ years in a cloud architect role with emphasis on GCP, 5+ years designing cloud automation and CI/CD pipelines
