Genetic Counselor

About This Role

Provide genetic counseling for cancer syndromes, review family histories, and determine eligibility for genetic testing and research protocols. This role involves clinical supervision of genetic counseling students and contributing to educational content and research.

Responsibilities

• Provide genetic counseling services for a variety of cancer syndromes
• Communicate with patients, genetic counselors, and healthcare professionals to review family histories
• Determine eligibility for genetic testing and research protocols
• Be involved in clinical supervision of genetic counseling students
• Contribute and write newsletter articles and blog posts
• Give educational talks to healthcare providers, patients, and lay persons
• Provide active involvement with protocols involving genetic research
• Develop patient education materials

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Genetic Counseling or equivalent
• 3 years experience in cancer genetic counseling
• Amer Bd of Genetic Counseling
• PA Genetic Counselor License

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Genetic Counseling or equivalent
• 3 years experience in cancer genetic counseling
