This role is the primary strategic business leader for the Sheraton Waikiki Beach Resort, overseeing all operational aspects to ensure guest and employee satisfaction, financial growth, and a strong return on investment. The General Manager will drive service strategy implementation, sales initiatives, and talent development within the property.
Responsibilities
- Function as the primary strategic business leader of the property
- Verify implementation of service strategy and initiatives to exceed guest expectations and increase profit
- Hold property leadership team accountable for strategy execution and guide their professional development
- Ensure sales engines are leveraged and initiate proactive sales activities to generate demand
- Build owner loyalty through proactive communication, expectation management, and solid business results
- Be actively involved in the local community and build strong relationships with officials, businesses, and customers
- Develop business plans designed to maximize property customer satisfaction, profitability, and market share
- Work closely with the Sales and Marketing team to develop revenue generating strategies
- Create a cohesive and high-performance Executive Committee and provide coaching
- Review business related data and analyze information to proactively address changing market conditions
- Ensure all employees are treated fairly and with respect, fostering an open communication environment
- Work with the Revenue Management team to develop effective pricing strategies and maximize yield
- Build strong rapport with property owners, keeping them informed of brand initiatives and performance
- Interact with guests and other customers frequently to obtain feedback and improve service delivery
- Verify property compliance with legal, safety, operations, labor, and Marriott brand standards
Requirements
- 2-year degree in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major with 8 years experience OR 4-year bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major with 6 years experience in management operations, sales and marketing, finance and accounting, or related professional area
Qualifications
- 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major OR 4-year bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
- 6+ years’ experience in management operations, sales and marketing, finance and accounting, or related professional area; General Manager experience in limited or full-service property preferred

- Property industry work experience, demonstrating progressive career growth and exceptional performance
