General Manager

About This Role

Lead a store team to deliver exceptional customer service and drive success in pet nutrition, overseeing all aspects of store performance, including customer care, team management, and financial targets. This role requires managing both sales and kitchen functions, making key decisions for operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Manage and train Nutrition Sales Consultant and Kitchen leaders to achieve performance goals
• Recruit, hire, and train new team members in coordination with HR, Recruiter, and Training Specialist
• Approve and manage staff schedules to meet business needs
• Ensure high-quality standards in kitchen and front-end operations
• Serve as a role model for company values and protocols
• Ensure Nutrition Consultants engage with customers and provide solutions
• Manage Team Leads to maintain effective merchandising and product display
• Respond to customer complaints to ensure satisfaction and repeat business
• Develop and execute local B2C and B2B marketing strategies
• Ensure staff adheres to safety, cleanliness, and product quality standards
• Manage and approve supply replenishment orders and organize back-room inventory
• Triage operational issues and coordinate resolution with COO and/or Facilities Coordinator
• Meet or exceed monthly budget for store-level profitability and manage cash handling
• Implement strategic initiatives and provide weekly and monthly performance reporting

Requirements

• 1+ years as a General Manager or Assistant General Manager in retail or similar industry
• Proven ability to build, lead, and motivate teams
• Skilled in managing daily operations, inventory, safety, and cleanliness standards
• Strong background in resolving customer complaints and driving sales
• Proficient in meeting budgets, managing cash, and analyzing performance metrics
• Excellent multitasking, time management, communication, and problem-solving abilities
• Comfortable with change in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
• Passion for pets, nutrition, and delivering outstanding customer experiences

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience as a General Manager or Assistant General Manager within the retail industry
