As a Community Manager at FirstService Residential, you will provide strong leadership and management direction to the Board of Directors and the community, overseeing daily operations, legal compliance, and staff. This role ensures effective communication and consistent execution of the community's mission and vision.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction in the development of short-term and long-range plans, and develop recommendations for goals and action plans to achieve Board objectives.
- Review organization structure, job descriptions, and functions, and make recommendations to the Board regarding potential changes.
- Partner with public, private, and volunteer organizations to provide community services.
- Support the activities of various Board sub-committees.
- Provide recommendations on revisions to all Community Governing documents.
- Create and implement the annual working budget in partnership with the Board.
- Monitor and report on the monthly financial position of the association.
- Provide leadership to all Board of Directors meetings, including agenda support and written/oral reports.
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise all community staff in accordance with the documented management plan, if applicable.
- Perform building inspections of the interior and exterior of property and prepare action plans for opportunities.
- Ensure adherence to master calendar, maintenance calendar, association budgets, and subsidy programs.
- Review corporation policies on an ongoing basis to ensure compliance with civil code, declaration, and other governing institutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of community management experience or equivalent
- 4+ years of staff management experience
- 3+ years Property Operations, Hospitality or Construction experience
- Understanding of physical building management, Condominium law, financial planning and law affecting property management
- Valid Driver’s License and State Mandated Vehicle Insurance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of seven years of successful community management experience or equivalent professional experience in a related field, with at least 4 of those years responsible for a staff with a variety of expertise, background, and job assignments. Three years' experience in Property Operations, Hospitality or Construction.
Nice to Have
- Management experience in a small or medium-sized organization including responsibility for more than one functional department or division
- Commitment to obtain CPM, PCAM, ARM or AMS designations or equivalent
