About This Role

The General Manager oversees the strategic direction, operation, compliance, and financial results for a designated logistics operation. This role serves as the primary customer interface for leadership decisions, champions continuous improvement, and develops marketing plans to assist in new business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures systems and procedures are in place for managing operations, equipment, and products in a safe and profitable manner.
  • Leads operations to meet prescribed productivity and service goals, complying with the site operating agreement.
  • Sets goals to drive company Continuous Improvement efforts and maintain productive business relations with partners.
  • Develops and manages controls to ensure service level and operations performance goals are met within cost, revenue, and profit parameters.
  • Partners with senior leadership to develop and recommend the annual operating budget and ensure overall safety and security of the operation.
  • Develops the team to achieve company and client objectives, actively supporting mentoring and succession planning.
  • Champions client relationship management and coordinates business reviews with stakeholders.
  • Participates in planning new account strategies, prospecting, and developing quoting rates.
  • Manages existing programs for maintaining company standards of sanitation, maintenance, security, housekeeping, safety, and equipment.
  • Achieves company goals in injury frequency ratings by establishing a proactive safety culture and ensuring compliance with all health and safety requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 7 years’ experience in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment.
  • 5 years’ experience in a leadership role in logistics/distribution/supply chain operations management.
  • Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • 7 years’ experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment and 5 years’ experience in a leadership role in operations management.
