About This Role

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall operations and financial profitability of the hotel, ensuring high guest satisfaction, brand standards execution, and fostering a positive team culture. This role involves leading various departments, managing human resources functions, and upholding the Brandt culture.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee service quality, operational efficiency, guest satisfaction, and financial measurements.
  • Lead operations of housekeeping, front desk, food & beverage, sales, and engineering departments.
  • Ensure all departments are profitable and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Delegate authority and assign responsibility, supervising work activities of all employees.
  • Ensure staff receive proper training, including safety and standard operating procedures.
  • Manage human resources functions by controlling turnover, motivating employees, and focusing on development and retention.
  • Protect hotel assets by enforcing and maintaining preventative maintenance programs.
  • Respond to guest requests and complaints timely, efficiently, appropriately, and in a friendly manner.
  • Comply with all brand initiatives and standards.
  • Allocate funds, authorize expenditures, and assist in budget planning.
  • Produce required monthly financial reports and monitor hotel performance against budget.
  • Assist in creating and ensuring a realistic and attainable strategic business plan with operational and profitability objectives.
  • Responsible for all hotel inventories and par levels, approving all purchase orders.
  • Participate in hotel sales efforts and processes by daily interaction with the Sales Manager.
  • Conduct regular staff and employee meetings.
  • Facilitate open employee communication and respond to grievances appropriately.
  • Coordinate capital improvement projects to maintain and upgrade quality standards and property image.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of hospitality industry and business management fields
  • Proficient in speaking, reading, writing, and comprehending English
  • Proficient computer skills including MS Office products
  • Knowledge of sales process, client base, and general market knowledge
  • Knowledge of revenue management and ability to forecast business
  • Basic to advanced knowledge of budget development, analysis, and monthly financial analysis

  • Ability to speak other languages
  • Knowledge of brand operating systems
