The Registered Nurse will coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a Free Standing Emergency Department. This role involves assessing patient pain, performing medical procedures, and educating patients and families on their medical condition and treatment plans.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with departmental requirements
- Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after intervention
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical provider(s)
- Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner
- Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate patient needs proactively
- Teach patients, families, and caregivers about patient medical condition, status, treatment plans, medications, and side effects
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about non-medicinal follow-up measures for self-management
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year Emergency Department RN experience
- Associates Degree
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days of employment
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 30 days of employment
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 30 days of employment
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) within 1 year of employment
Qualifications
- Associates Degree
- Minimum 1 year Emergency Department RN experience required
