About This Role

The Frozen Food/Department Leader will create an outstanding customer experience by providing exceptional service and maintaining a safe and clean environment. This role assists the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals while upholding quality assurance standards and fostering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Promote trust and respect among associates with a positive attitude.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions and making product suggestions.
  • Maintain knowledge of products sold within the department to assist customers effectively.
  • Inform customers of frozen food specials and recommend items.
  • Check product quality, ensuring freshness and addressing "sell by" dates.
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
  • Report product ordering and shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special advertisements.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Ensure proper temperatures are maintained in cases and coolers, and logs are kept.
  • Reinforce safety programs, comply with procedures, and report unsafe conditions.
  • Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repair needs.
  • Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
  • Report all safety risks, issues, and illegal activity.
  • Perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 or older
  • Ability to handle stressful situations
  • Effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction)

Qualifications

  • Entry level position.
