About This Role

Lead the Front-end Department to deliver exceptional customer service, achieve sales and profit goals, and ensure a safe and clean environment. Direct and supervise all functions while maintaining company standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Promote trust and respect among associates
  • Communicate company, department, and job-specific information
  • Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to achieve goals
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers, answering product questions
  • Maintain records and paperwork for company and federal compliance (Anti-money Laundering)
  • Monitor and control supply expenses for the department
  • Manage cash control, sales, cash items, and store records
  • Manage scheduling of Front-end associates for adequate department coverage
  • Assist store management in preparing budget, profit and loss reviews
  • Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve desired results
  • Create and execute sales promotions in partnership with store management
  • Implement period promotional plan for the department
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads
  • Monitor and control expenses for the department
  • Maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions
  • Ensure department associates are current and compliant with company training standards
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
  • Reinforce safety programs, comply with procedures, and notify management of unsafe conditions
  • Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying appropriate manager of repairs needed
  • Notify management of customer or employee accidents
  • Report all safety risks, issues, and illegal activity
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines
  • Supervise and coach direct reports, complete performance reviews

Requirements

  • Effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic math
  • Ability to handle stressful situations
  • Retail or Customer Service experience
  • Front-end experience

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Second language: speaking, reading and/or writing
