Front End Assistant Department Leader

About This Role

This role is responsible for creating an outstanding customer experience and maintaining a safe and clean environment in the Front-end department. The Assistant Department Leader will support the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals and ensure quality assurance standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates
• Create an environment focused on welcoming and appreciating customers by answering product questions and making suggestions
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and throughout the store
• Assist with monitoring and controlling supply expenses for the department
• Assist with managing cash control, sales, cash items, and records for the store
• Manage the scheduling of Front-end associates to provide adequate department coverage
• Assist store management in preparing the store/department budget and profit/loss reviews
• Assist with creating and executing budgets and labor scheduling in partnership with store management
• Assist in the development and implementation of department action plans
• Collaborate with Front-end associates and promote teamwork

Requirements

• Ability to handle stressful situations
• Effective communication skills
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
• Retail or Customer Service experience

Qualifications

• Retail or Customer Service experience

Nice to Have

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Management experience
• Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing)
