The Foreign Pharmacy Grad - International Pharmacy Intern will apply didactic learning from pharmacy school to real-world practice, completing required US Internship hours to prepare for a Pharmacist role. This role supports pharmacy teams in delivering on brand promises, filling prescriptions safely and accurately, and providing caring service to patients.
Responsibilities
- Follow company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at each workstation to help Pharmacists and Technicians manage and improve patient health
- Execute pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy and genuine care, offering immunizations and other services, and solving or escalating patient problems
- Offer to counsel, field medical questions, and solicit information on a patient’s medical history under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, where appropriate
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify prescriptions or facilitate medication changes, as allowed by state regulation
- Maintain self-awareness and provide in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members, sharing best practices
- Complete basic inventory activities, as permitted by law and directed by the pharmacy leadership team
- Contribute to a high-performing team, actively seeking opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge needed to better assist patients
- Remain flexible for both scheduling and business needs, and voluntarily travel to stores in the market to work shifts as needed
- Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles, and CVS policies and procedures
Requirements
- Foreign graduate from a Non-US Accredited college or school of pharmacy
- FPGEC certification
- Ability to obtain Pharmacist licensure in the state of position within 120 days of US Intern hours completion
- Possess or be in the process of obtaining valid intern and/or technician licensure
Qualifications
- Foreign Graduate from a Non-US Accredited college or school of pharmacy
- 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting preferred.
Nice to Have
- 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
- Ability to become immunization certified
- Ability to work in home store and other locations across the market
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
