Foreign Pharmacy Grad - International Pharmacy Intern

About This Role

The Foreign Pharmacy Grad - International Pharmacy Intern will apply didactic learning from pharmacy school to real-world practice, completing required US Internship hours to prepare for a Pharmacist role. This role supports pharmacy teams in delivering on brand promises, filling prescriptions safely and accurately, and providing caring service to patients.

Responsibilities

• Follow company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at each workstation to help Pharmacists and Technicians manage and improve patient health
• Execute pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy and genuine care, offering immunizations and other services, and solving or escalating patient problems
• Offer to counsel, field medical questions, and solicit information on a patient’s medical history under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, where appropriate
• Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify prescriptions or facilitate medication changes, as allowed by state regulation
• Maintain self-awareness and provide in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members, sharing best practices
• Complete basic inventory activities, as permitted by law and directed by the pharmacy leadership team
• Contribute to a high-performing team, actively seeking opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge needed to better assist patients
• Remain flexible for both scheduling and business needs, and voluntarily travel to stores in the market to work shifts as needed
• Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles, and CVS policies and procedures

Requirements

• Foreign graduate from a Non-US Accredited college or school of pharmacy
• FPGEC certification
• Ability to obtain Pharmacist licensure in the state of position within 120 days of US Intern hours completion
• Possess or be in the process of obtaining valid intern and/or technician licensure

Qualifications

• Foreign Graduate from a Non-US Accredited college or school of pharmacy
• 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting preferred.

Nice to Have

• 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
• Ability to become immunization certified
• Ability to work in home store and other locations across the market
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
