Foreign Pharmacy Grad - International Pharmacy Intern

About This Role

This role supports patient care programs, focusing on patient safety, professional practice, and regulatory compliance within a retail pharmacy setting. The International Pharmacy Intern contributes to a safe and effective work environment while preparing for Pharmacist licensure.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety, pharmacy professional practice, and regulatory compliance
• Manage quality assurance, customer service, inventory, and workflow
• Display empathy and compassion for patients, customers, caregivers, and colleagues
• Support the Pharmacy manager in motivating and developing Pharmacy Support Staff
• Identify critical business opportunities and implement solutions to drive growth
• Adapt to change and thrive in a dynamic community healthcare setting
• Seek new ways to grow, collaborate, and deliver better outcomes
• Greet customers in a courteous and professional manner in-store and at drive-thru
• Assist pharmacy and front store customers with questions and concerns
• Answer telephone with a warm and friendly greeting
• Maintain customer/patient confidentiality according to HIPAA and company standards
• Comply with all federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and company SOPs
• Process prescriptions including translation of SIG codes, product selection, counting and measuring drugs, and labeling
• Resolve third-party rejections and complete manual claim forms
• Support supervising pharmacist in dispensing drugs, reviewing prescriptions, and monitoring compliance
• Communicate with Field Management and Corporate as needed

Requirements

• Foreign Graduate from a Non-US Accredited college or school of pharmacy
• Pharmacist licensure in the state in which the position is based within 120 days of completion of US Intern hours
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• High School Diploma or GED
• Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent Pharmacist degree from a Non-US accredited school of pharmacy
• Active Pharmacy Intern license in state where district is located

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Equivalent Development (GED) and Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent Pharmacist degree from a Non-US accredited school of pharmacy
• 0 to 3 years of prior related work experience
