Food Service Supervisor

About This Role

Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of food service at the Turtleback Zoo, ensuring food safety, quality, and efficient service. You will lead staff, manage inventory, and maintain a hazard-free work environment.

Responsibilities

• Produce and maintain work schedules and prepare production packets
• Direct daily activities of the food service team
• Maintain food production to ensure safety and quality according to policies
• Ensure food items are stored in a safe, organized, and hazard-free environment
• Maintain all serving schedules and ensure food items are served per menu specifications
• Maintain a sanitary department following health and safety codes and regulations
• Maintain accurate inventory on a weekly basis and prepare orders as needed
• Supervise and evaluate employees, provide counseling, and promote growth, efficiency, morale, and teamwork
• Train and mentor other food service workers
• Maintain knowledge of daily catering events and confirm on-time preparation and delivery

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and understand verbal instructions
• Completion of a sanitation course (before or during first year of employment)
• Knowledgeable in operating an efficient cost-effective program
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic
• Ability to maintain emotional control under stress
• Ability to resolve interpersonal situations
• Strong organizational skills
