Food Service Associate

About This Role

Perform a variety of food service functions, including cold food production, meal assembly, and delivery to patients, catering, and cafeteria, ensuring adherence to food safety and customer service standards.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and serve food in a timely manner, accurately and attractively
• Prepare food quantities according to recipes, par levels, or supervisor instructions
• Clean equipment and work areas to prevent cross-contamination and foodborne illness
• Demonstrate proper hand hygiene and follow isolation precautions in patient areas
• Deliver food in a timely manner, properly identifying patients and sanitizing hands
• Operate cash register accurately, following policies for counting drawers and recording sales
• Keep potentially hazardous food out of the danger zone and log temperatures
• Store food properly using FIFO, with correct temperatures and expiration dates
• Label and date foods correctly, discarding expired items

Requirements

• Ability to read and write
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to use mobile devices like iPads

Qualifications

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs, or equivalent work experience
