Firefighter II

About This Role

This role is responsible for performing fire suppression, prevention, hazardous materials response, and emergency medical services. The Firefighter II will also inspect, test, and maintain Life Safety Equipment for Vallen.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency and non-emergency incidents, providing services like emergency rescue and fire suppression
• Perform search and rescue for trapped or injured persons
• Provide emergency medical and first aid services as needed
• Prepare reports regarding emergency incidents
• Participate in fire prevention operations, including training and fire investigations
• Identify, isolate, and contain hazardous materials safely and effectively
• Participate in cleaning and maintaining fire station, equipment, and apparatus
• Perform Inspection, Testing and Maintenance of emergency response equipment and installed life safety systems
• Maintain emergency vehicle equipment logs
• Maintain and track EMS supplies and inventory

Requirements

• High School or GED
• Firefighter I, IFSAC/ProBoard or NFPA 1081 equivalent
• Emergency Medical Responder (EMR)
• CPR & AED
• Hazardous Materials Technician
• Rope Rescue Training
• Confined Space Training
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English

Qualifications

• High School or GED required; Bachelor's in related field of study preferred or 6+ years of applicable direct experience
• 6+ years of applicable direct experience and 5+ current certifications in fire protection and/or related field
