This role is for a Real Estate Tax Senior Manager who will apply tax knowledge to a wide range of tax areas and processes within the financial services industry. The individual will devise strategic outcomes for complex tax issues, lead teams, and build client relationships. This position focuses on providing tax advice to clients in the real estate, hospitality, and construction industries.
Responsibilities
- Analyze an evolving portfolio of complex tax operations to provide meaningful business insights
- Identify potential opportunities and risks and communicate these to clients
- Research current market trends to maintain credibility as a trusted advisor
- Build client relationships and demonstrate deep knowledge of the real estate, hospitality, and construction industry
- Develop clear, intelligent plans and approaches to improve clients' tax activities
- Research clients' business operations and build long-lasting relationships to tailor advice to specific needs
- Supervise and develop a motivated team of professionals
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related discipline
- CPA certification or member of a state bar
- 7-10 years of real estate tax experience within a professional services environment
- Extensive knowledge in a broad range of real estate tax technical and transaction skills, including partnership taxation, REITs taxation and qualification, partnership allocations, tax compliance, due diligence, acquisition/disposition planning and structuring
- Experience managing budgets, people and projects
- Business development within the market
- Proven record of excellence in a professional services or tax organization
- Technical writing and research experience in a tax context
- Ability to prioritize when working on multiple complex projects
- Strong influencing skills and confidence to question existing processes
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
- Seven to ten years' of real estate tax experience, within a professional services environment
