About This Role

This Senior role in Financial Accounting Advisory Services within EY's Government & Public Sector practice involves consulting clients on data integrity, improving data quality, and providing expert advice. You will develop an understanding of current market trends and processes while mentoring junior colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with clients on data integrity and improving data quality
  • Engage clients and provide authoritative advice and professionalism throughout transactions
  • Constantly develop your understanding of current market trends and processes
  • Share knowledge to develop junior colleagues
  • Understand clients' unique ambitions and needs and refer them to colleagues in other teams and areas to broaden business relationships

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline
  • At least 3 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience applying US Governmental GAAP, GASB standards, Financial and Single Audit (Subpart F of the OMB Uniform Guidance) of State, Local Government, Higher Educational Institutions and Not for Profit
  • Pursuing a CPA certification
  • Experience with preparation and/or auditing of Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR), Financial audit and Single Audit for State, Local Government, Educational Institutions and Not for Profit (NFP)
  • Advanced data analytics knowledge, exploratory data mining and data visualization
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Deep understanding of the objectives of compliance requirements of Federal and state grants and research related compliance requirements and control aspects applicable to state and federal grants
  • Proven record of excellence when managing, mentoring and improving a team of high-performing colleagues
  • Confidence to assess risk and provide well thought out solutions
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance or higher

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline
