About This Role

As a Financial Planning and Analysis Manager, you will drive insightful financial decision-making and strategic planning, reporting directly to the FP&A Director. You will contribute to shaping the financial future of athenahealth through advanced analytics and collaborative business partnering. Our FP&A team provides critical financial insights and strategic guidance to support decision-making, including budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing financial performance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed financial models to support business planning and forecasting.
  • Manage capacity models related to vendor costs and headcount across multiple divisions.
  • Analyze monthly financial results and variances, providing actionable insights to leadership.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data and validate assumptions for forecasts and budgets.
  • Prepare and present financial reports and management packages to senior stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and reporting accuracy.
  • Support the annual budgeting process and periodic reforecasting activities.
  • Assist in ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed.
  • Participate in the evaluation of new business opportunities and financial impact assessments.
  • Support system implementations and upgrades related to financial planning tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 3-7 years of progressive finance experience, preferably in financial planning and analysis.
  • Exceptional financial analytics skills with advanced modeling capabilities.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex financial information clearly and effectively.
  • Experience working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 3-7 years of progressive finance experience, preferably in financial planning and analysis.
