Financial Planning and Analysis Manager

About This Role

Lead enterprise financial planning, forecasting, and strategic analysis for a regulated insurance organization. This role involves partnering with executive leadership, actuarial, risk, and capital management teams to deliver insights that drive business success.

Responsibilities

• Own multi-year financial forecasts incorporating premium growth, loss ratios, expense trends, investment income, and market conditions
• Develop projections across underwriting performance, operating expenses, capital management, and credit-risk transfer (CRT) transactions
• Enhance forecasting methodology through trend analysis, scenario modeling, and assumption governance
• Partner with actuarial teams to align forecasts with reserve and loss projections
• Build complex models to support strategic and transaction decisions
• Perform stress testing and sensitivity analysis for economic downturns, catastrophe exposure, and rate changes
• Provide financial leadership on capital allocation decisions
• Develop and monitor insurance-specific KPIs including combined ratio, loss ratio, expense ratio, premium growth and retention, ROE, and capital efficiency
• Lead monthly and quarterly variance analysis vs. plan and forecast
• Prepare Board and executive presentations covering financial performance, capital adequacy, and risk scenarios

Requirements

• Advanced financial modeling and forecasting expertise
• Strong executive communication and presentation skills
• Advanced Excel and financial systems (Adaptive, Anaplan, Hyperion, Power BI, etc.)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA preferred)
• 7+ years of progressive FP&A or corporate finance experience within insurance or financial services
