This role will support the Project Accounting Manager for various business units by serving as the main point of contact for project finance, accounting, invoicing, and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance for client projects.
Responsibilities
- Prepare client invoices monthly, ensuring adherence to client contracts, SOWs, and Change Orders.
- File client MSAs, SOWs, and purchase orders, tracking billings against purchase orders.
- Manage relationships with team members and clients to identify needs and recommend financial actions.
- Establish trust and credibility with clients and team members by responding quickly and accurately.
- Collect relevant information efficiently, identify discrepancies, and proactively seek missing details.
- Prepare and post journal entries for revenue recognition, accrued/deferred income, and expense accruals according to GAAP/IFRS.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual project reconciliations.
- Improve project financial profitability by analyzing results, monitoring variances, and identifying trends.
- Prepare monthly and YTD P&L variance summaries with commentary on project opportunities or risks.
- Research and resolve assigned clients’ outstanding and aging A/R collections.
- Assist the Finance Team with annual client budgets and monthly forecast preparation.
- Provide support as necessary to internal and external auditors.
- Identify and suggest process improvements for analysis and other areas.
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
- 1-3 years of relevant finance experience
- Experience with billing to contracts and budget estimates and assembling periodic reconciliations to billing
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- High-level of responsibility and minimal supervision
- Advanced Excel skills (V-Lookup’s, Pivot Tables, etc.)
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree with an emphasis in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
- Minimum 1-3 years of relevant finance experience
