Field to Table Staff II

About This Role

The Field to Table Staff II assists with the production of hydroponically grown crops for Biltmore's culinary teams, focusing on planting, monitoring, and harvesting. This role works closely with leadership and Food & Beverage teams to maintain efficient production and deliver high-quality produce.

Responsibilities

• Sow and plant lettuces, herbs, flowers, and micro greens
• Monitor crops for water needs, nutrient deficiencies, pests, diseases, and general care needs
• Harvest and package crops with discernment for product quality
• Comply with all Food Safety requirements and guidelines
• Deliver crops in a timely manner and in premium condition
• Assist team members, customers, and guests in a courteous and professional manner
• Collect monthly water samples and prepare for shipment to lab
• Accurately enter lab results into a Nutrient Calculator Spreadsheet
• Accurately dose raceways as per NCS recommendations
• Inventory nutrients for ordering

Requirements

• High school diploma
• 1 year of related experience
• Ability to obtain NC pesticide applicator's license
• Ability to identify signs of disease and stress in plants
• Ability to recognize functionality issues in a variety of hydroponic systems
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, Outlook)
• Demonstrated commitment to world-class internal/external guest service
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent planning, time management, and organizational skills
• Proactive, exercises good judgment; troubleshoots and problem solves
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Qualifications

• High school diploma required. Additional education, training, and/or certification(s) preferred.
• One (1) year of related experience. Equivalent combination of education/experience may be considered.

Nice to Have

• Experience in vegetable/fruit production
• Hydroponic production techniques experience
